Those of you who know me well know that I absolutely adore my son, Ethan. Regretfully I probably don't photograph him nearly as much as I should. But sometimes, even when I least expect it he surprises me and cooperates when I want to use him as a model. The shot below is a picture I took of him while he helped me test a lighting setup. He only allowed me to get about three shots before saying" No, don't take my picture daddy!" He can be a bit bossy, it's all his Mom's fault :). Anyways, I really thought this was a cool picture of him. I was tempted to photoshop the cookie crumbs off of his face, but I have a strange appreciation for the picture the way it was taken. This is my son in what appears to be his most mature 1 year old moment. (i said appears because it really isn't). He'll be two at the end of the month and I still find myself amazed that my wife and I created something so beautiful. I love this little guy!! Enjoy...

Meet Julia!!! {Newborn}
You know how there are just some people that just make you want to go above and beyond the call of duty to help (or in my case photograph). Well, I have to admit, the Whites sure do fit that bill! Not only are they without a doubt the most photographed family of C.L. Moze Photography, but they also have become really special to me and it's always a joy to be able to work with them. This time in particular was especially special (say that ten times fast) because I got to me the newest addition to the family, little miss Julia! This was also my very first crack at a newborn session; little Julia was only four days old at the time of the shoot. Since she was so young and it was extremely cold on the day of the shoot, I opted to bring my studio setup to them. So, Britt and I loaded the truck with all the essentials, and about 30 or so items we thought we might need :) and made our way to the White home.
So here are a few things I learned on this shoot:
1. Have plenty of time.
2. Babies don't take to kindly to direction, so be patient.
3. If you intend to stay clean bring plenty of wipes and towels!
4. Did I mention be patient :)!
I really did have a ball on this shoot and I ended up enjoying it a whole lot more than I anticipated. Julia was a doll and she just belongs in front of the camera. I wonder where she gets that from?? Congrats Mr. and Mrs. White and happy born day Julia! I haven't had a lot of time to go through all of the pics, but here are a few of my favs from just skimming over the collection. ENJOY!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Williams {Wedding}
This is officially my first wedding of the year. Keyarrow and Akeem were married on the 28th of January in Newberry, SC. The Couple had a beautiful ceremony with the support of close family and tons of friends. Both venues were packed full of people! I have to say the highlight of this event was the thank you tribute the bridal party dedicated to all the guest in attendance. It was a cool dance routine that had the whole crowd on their feet! This was a good way to start the wedding season and I'm pretty excited to shoot more weddings this year. After all, it's not about to slow down anytime soon! Keyarrow also had an amazing bridal shoot that I will be posting very soon. Until then, enjoy a few of my favs from the day...Enjoy!!!
Lakisha and Andre...Engaged!
Lakisha, Andre, and I met up this past Saturday to complete what was to be the second of three shoots I had that day ( well technically three shoots, the other two were of the same couple, see the post below ;) ). These guys are set to be married in June of this year, so we set this time aside to get a nice collection of engagement portraits for them. Here's about how the day went: We started out in a location that I'd never shot before and it turned out to be a hit! Then we headed to another "new" location only to find out we were locked out, but we were still able to grab some great shots nearby. My clients trusted me enough to stand in the middle of a one way street, and I trusted them enough to not let me get hit by a car while I lay on the ground with my back to traffic attempting to get the shot. Afterwards, they both got a lot more dapper and we made a few stops before ending up at the newly constructed dock at the base of the Gervias Street Bridge. (at least new since the last time I was there). The session was filled with lots of smiles and laughs, great chemistry from the duo, a little hiking, and even less direction from me( less direction = natural poses)...all creating the perfect recipe for a great collection of Portraits. Thanks for a great time guys! Here are a few of my Favs from the day...Enjoy!!!

Vanessa and Terry Engaged!
I was scheduled to meet up with Vanessa and Terry last week to shoot their engagement session, but due to some bad weather we ended up doing it in two phases on this past Saturday. We shot most of the portraits in the morning, then met up again in the evening to get a few night frames. This couple is unique clients for several reasons. For one, When I booked Vanessa and Terry, Vanessa was deployed overseas. So, when I met with Terry we actually dialed Vanessa up on Skype so she could take part in creating their package, and they booked the same day! Kudos to Skype!!! The second and third reasons this couple has been unique is, they are the first couple to ever do some of their engagement portraits in front of a backdrop setup, I never do that. Also they were the first couple I've ever had to request a theme for a portion of their session. Since they met through a mutual passion for basketball, we used the movie "Love and Basketball" as inspiration for their shoot. The very first picture in this post is my take on the DVD cover from the movie. I opted for the black background because I wanted to turn the idea into something unique for my clients and also because I saw picture that another photographer (whose blog I follow) did, and he did a stellar job replicating the cover...so I didn't want to be a copycat :). Vanessa and Terry will probably end up with the largest collection of engagement pictures that I've ever shot. They were just filled with energy and for most of the shoot I gave them hardly no direction at all. It was mostly me getting them where I needed them to be in the frame and from there I just let their chemistry take over. I can go on and on and on about this shoot, but I think the pictures speak for themselves. So, on that note...ENJOY!!!
