I'm Baaaack!

Soooo.... It's been well over a year since I last posted on this blog. It definitely isn't because I haven't been taking any pics.  In fact, I guess you can say the amount of pics I've been taking has kept me from blogging. Those of you who know me know that I've decided to take a little break from photography (paid work at least), well more particularly weddings. Being caught up in the hustle of working ALL THE TIME didn't allow me to feed my creative appetite as much as I would like, so during my "time off" I'm going to take time and indulge in some personal projects that I want to shoot and hopefully perfect my craft even more. With that being said... On to some pics! I thought of maybe going back and showcasing all that you've missed over the last year, but that would take waaaay too much time. Heck, I wouldn't be able to narrow all those pics down to a single blog post anyway. Sooo... Check out some pics from a little impromptu shoot I did with my family in my garage today, while washing the car.  It was really all in fun, but I love the style of this portraiture. It reminds me of something similar to old style photo booth pics. We all had a ball with this shoot, so much in fact, it made me want to blog about it! I hope you guys enjoy them as much as we enjoyed taking them. I'll try to keep this up and not have you all waiting another year before I post again. ENJOY!!!

Mr. Moze

Those of you who know me well know that I absolutely adore my son, Ethan.  Regretfully I probably don't photograph him nearly as much as I should.  But sometimes, even when I least expect it he surprises me and cooperates when I want to use him as a model.  The shot below is a picture I took of him while he helped me test a lighting setup.  He only allowed me to get about three shots before saying" No, don't take my picture daddy!"  He can be a bit bossy, it's all his Mom's fault :). Anyways, I really thought this was a cool picture of him. I was tempted to photoshop the cookie crumbs off of his face, but I have a strange appreciation for the picture the way it was taken.  This is my son in what appears to be his most mature 1 year old moment. (i said appears because it really isn't). He'll be two at the end of the month and I still find myself amazed that my wife and I created something so beautiful.  I love this little guy!! Enjoy...

Little Ethan Moze's First Christmas!!

My Son Ethan grew to see his very first Christmas this year. At only ten months old you would swear by watching that he'd been through this before! My little man tore open gifts, laughed and played, and even showed off some of his new outfits for the camera.  This is by far the greatest gift a father could ever ask for...a great big smile on your child's face, PRICELESS!!! This all can't go without giving a great big thanks to Grandma!!! (she definitely has him ROTTEN!)

Ethan Alijah

After  a great session with the Montgomery's it was time to attempt to steal some good shots of my son Ethan.  It's a shame when you have to put your own son on your calendar to take pictures. :) This was Ethan's first shoot since he's been big enough to REALLY get around on his own and boy was it a challenge.  He had no interest at all in taking pictures. It took the whole family, Grandma included, to try and keep his attention toward the camera! We did manage to get a couple of great shots. I hope you all enjoy this peek of my Little Man!

My Little Man!!

My wife Brittany has been on my case for some time now about taking some pictures of our son Ethan, so last night I broke out my white backdrop and a few lights and we made it happen.  Ethan has never...EVER smiled on demand before, but I guess he was in a good mood last night, because it seemed like every time I pressed the shutter button he was all smiles.  I can't even begin to explain how great it feels to be a Father, and its times like this that make the little moments worth it.  Here's a picture from the shoot.

Thanks for Stopping By!

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to drop in and check out my blog. I've been spending a lot of time and energy lately trying give C.L. Moze the momentum it needs to go full swing, and with that in mind I thought a blog would be a step in the right direction. I consider this to be place for people to stop by and read about our experiences on shoots and share in the excitement and love my wife and I have for this craft. It's definitely a continuous learning experience and I'm always eager to find the next bit of knowledge that will make my photographs stand out from the crowd. For my first post I thought I'd show a few pics of my little sister Ivy, she's been a big inspiration for me, not to mention being the model I've used on countless occasions to experiment with. On that note, since she has helped me so much I think it's only right to christen my blog with a beautiful portrait of her we took a few weeks ago in a little city league dugout not far from my house. It was raining so we needed a location with a some cover. so...here you go. Luv you Sis! Enjoy!!!
