A Day With the Youngs

I had the pleasure of spending this Labor Day Weekend photographing the wedding of Mr. and Mrs Nathan Young.  Nathan and  Ashley were married on September 5th 2010 at the Mitchell House and Gardens in Lexington, SC  and it was definitely a day where we couldn't ask for better weather.  The ceremony took place at 7p.m. and the couples family and friends were gathered and eager to see these two become one.  It was beautiful to watch a couple that's so full of life and  who also share an genuine love for one another finally tie the knot. The couple also opted to do a "Day After" shoot with just the two of them, which yielded some beautiful portraits do add to their wedding collection. I recommend this session to all of my Brides and Grooms, because it allows the opprutunity to capture really special and unique portraits that you just don't have time to get on the wedding day.  Ashley and Nathan, you guys had a beautiful day and I'm so happy for the both of you! Enjoy each other in years to come the way that you already do and there will never be a dull moment.  Here are a few teasers, your online gallery will be up soon!

Mr. and Mrs. Senn

On the 31st day of April, Dena and Marcus became Mr. And Mrs. Marcus Senn. The ceremony and reception were held at Wintergreen Woods in Lexington, SC.  The day started out with showers that would seemingly linger throughout the afternoon, but we were blessed with just enough sunlight to see this beautiful couple off to marital bliss. Dena and Marcus had a beautiful ceremony and an lively reception to boot.  The families were absolutely overjoyed to see these two be wed and party that lasted well into the night did not say anything Different! The wife and I were absolutely beat when we got home!  Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Senn.  Here are a few of my favs from the day.

A Happy Couple

Over the weekend I met up with Shaneka and Shawn for their engagement shoot in River Front Park. These two are friends of my wife and I so it was definitely a pleasure photographing them. Even though we got started a little behind schedule, Shawn and Shaneka were eager to get started. Sassy little sandals, cute pink dress and all, Shaneka even did a little hill climbing :) to ensure we got the best shots. These guys are definitely one of those couples that just can't take a bad picture. And in lieu of holding the self proclaimed "shy couple" title, they weren't afraid to have some fun and be themselves. Guys I had a blast at your shoot and I can't wait until the wedding! Here are a few tasters until your online gallery is posted. Enjoy ;-)

Our Friends In Charleston

This past weekend my wife and I headed to Charleston to meet up with our friends Michelle and Herbert for their Engagement Session.  The wife and I decided to just make a weekend of the whole thing so we went down Friday evening and stayed in Charleston until Sunday. We got up Saturday morning and headed to the location, which was a beautiful place called Middleton Gardens. It's a perfect location to take some gorgeous pictures with lots of shade and scenery to spare.  Well, with all this perfection in the mix, something was bound to go wrong.  To start out, my primary camera battery mysteriously died on me before I even snapped the first picture, then I bent one of the pins on my CF card reader which in turned caused my camera to act a little flaky for a few minutes.  The good news was, we had all the bugs worked out before the couple ever got there (it pays to be early!) Michelle and Herbert are one of those couple you just love to see, because they have the type of relationship that just exudes a little Al Green (love and Happiness).  I told my wife I wished they lived in Columbia, because they're just fun to be around.  Their session did not disappoint. Right off we were getting some great pictures. Brittany insists that they practiced posing before they left home.  Either way, it worked!  To top it off, there were so many little places to get those timeless shots I was like a kid in a candy store! Oh, and did I forget to mention the fact of it being my BIRTHDAY (now that's dedication)!  The future bride and groom were good sports too, because even though they were dressed in their delicate whites, we all walked around and took pictures until all my memory cards were full! Michelle and Herbert here are a few pics to hold you over until I'm done with your edits. Enjoy!!!

The Williams'

About a week ago, while at a conference in Myrtle Beach, I had the pleasure of taking a few Family Portraits of my Friend Kevin, his wife Lisa, and his Girls Chelsea and Makayla . We decided to go to Huntington Beach to try and get some good shots inside Atalaya Castle, but unfortunately the castle closes at 5pm.  No sweat, there's plenty of great scenery at the beach for pictures so it was only a minor set back.  We walked the perimeter of the castle taking some good shots along the way and ended up on the beach for a few candids.  The wind was crazy and the ladies hair was all over the place, but in the end it all made for some cool pictures. The camera really loves this family! If you're ever in the Sumter area drop in and say hello to Kevin and Lisa  at their restaurant and bar, Brewers, it's a great place to get a good meal and a few refreshing beverages. Here are a few pics from the shoot.

My Little Man!!

My wife Brittany has been on my case for some time now about taking some pictures of our son Ethan, so last night I broke out my white backdrop and a few lights and we made it happen.  Ethan has never...EVER smiled on demand before, but I guess he was in a good mood last night, because it seemed like every time I pressed the shutter button he was all smiles.  I can't even begin to explain how great it feels to be a Father, and its times like this that make the little moments worth it.  Here's a picture from the shoot.

Mr and Mrs Andre Williams

Chayla and Andre Williams were married on April 3rd 2010 in Newberry, SC. From the moment we took these pictures I couldn't wait for the newlyweds to see them!  The day was nice, warm and slightly overcast all the way up until it was time for the outdoor formals.  which of course left me in a puddle of sweat :)!  After the ceremony we headed over to Newberry College (the official Photo spot in Newberry...lol) to take the formals.  I was determined to find a place there that wouldn't scream Newberry College once the prints came back, and I think Britt and I did a good job finding a "less traditional" location in such a traditional and well used place.  The entire wedding party was very cooperative and enthusiastic with the formals and we were headed to the reception hall in what seemed like a matter of minutes!  There were lots of laughs, kind words, good music and great food for all to enjoy and it made for another great day of shooting for Britt and I.  To the Bride and Groom...good luck in your future together and we hope it brings you much happiness and many blessings.  Be sure to give us a buzz when you're ready for those post-wedding portraits ;).  Here's a little preview of a few of your pics. Enjoy!
