Ursula! {Materniny Session}

Yesterday afternoon I met up with Ursula to take a few maternity shots before her due date in March.  Ursula is a good friend of another client of mine, Safina (check out my post on her engagement session here ) who also came out to give us a helping hand.  For some reason I've been finding myself shooting at the USC Horseshoe a lot more than I usually care to shoot one particular location consecutively in a short period of time. But, the cool thing about it is, every time I go there I find a new little spot tucked away to itself, a new angle that gives a former location a facelift, or something else that makes me feel I'm shooting the location for the first time all over again.  So Kudos to the horseshoe for being such a photographic goldmine!  When I first met Ursula, she explained that she didn't think she would feel very photogenic when it came time for her session, because her little lady would have her so big. On the contrary, she was radiant and to boot, she even brought a little sass to the shoot, which is always a plus in  my book :)!  I promised Ursula that I would try and blog a few shots from her session by today so she could show them off at her baby shower this afternoon, so here you go.  Enjoy Ladies!!!!

Krista and Dewayne Engaged!

My Son Ethan has decided to join me tonight as I blog about the time I spent with Krista and Dewayne this past Sunday for their engagement shoot.  This lovely couple ventured all the way from Atlanta to do their session and they definitely brought their "A" game!  When I first met with Krista, her fiance Dewayne was unable to come with her due to his work schedule. But upon meeting my wife Brittany and I, he was sure to inform us that he's not sure of what we talked about at our meeting, but she was not even thinking of entertaining the idea of talking to another photographer! For that Krista, I am very grateful :).  I took these guys to explore a few locations that were new to me (photographically at least) and my goal was to go the entire shoot without using any off camera flash.  Yeah right! I couldn't resist just a few exposures with some off camera flash :).  These guys were a blast to shoot for and the session was full of energy from start to finish.  Ending with Britt and I bidding the duo farewell and safe travels as they blazed a trail back to good ole' ATL to start yet another work week.  Great ending to a great weekend!  Check out a few of my favs from the shoot. I have to put my little man to bed...It's late!  ENJOY!!

Downtown With Richard...

This Monday I spent MLK Day downtown Columbia with my friend and local premiere hair stylist Richard Sims.  Richard and I worked together a while back on the Deadly Assassin Shoot I photographed just a few months ago.  This time we decided to do something a little different.  Richard was in need of a few good head shots, and I was in need of some time lighting and shooting a man, since I'm so accustomed to doing so with women.  As always, with gear in tow, we marched up and down Main st. dipping in and out of alley ways looking for inspiration.  Needless to say, I think we might have found it.  I really think these pics speak for themselves so...ENJOY!!!

Bruce and Shea...Engaged!!

Bruce, Shea and I ( and about 40 degrees of cool and windy weather) met up on Wednesday morning at the USC Horseshoe to take some engagement pics. I met this duo via my good friend and fellow event business woman Michelle Summers of " Your Signature Events by Michelle". Check out her blog here.  These guys needed to have their pics done on short notice in order to send out save the dates early next month, and I was happy to oblige.  I had a great time with these two, weaving in and out between the buildings that surround the horseshoe in search of some cool spots to shoot.  We ended up at Riverfront Park where by that time we were all a little happier that the sun decided to have a little mercy on us.  Check out a few peeks from the shoot. Enjoy!!
